University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is one of the largest public universities in Australia with a total enrolment of over 45,000 students, established only in 1988. 

UTS ranked 9th in Australia at 133 in the QS World University Rankings 2022. UTS also ranked 11th in the world and 1st in Australia in the QS Top 50 under 50 in the QS GLOBAL index of newer universities – those less than 50 years old. The rankings are based on research, teaching, employability and internationalisation.

UTS offers over 130 undergraduate and 230 postgraduate courses across traditional and emerging disciplines such as architecture, built environment, business, communication, design, education, engineering, information technology, international studies, law, midwifery, nursing, pharmacy and science.

UTS Startups provide a range of support to help entrepreneurship students and graduates continue and grow their startup, including collaboration spaces (meeting rooms, media studio, hardware space with 3D printer), connections (experienced mentors, external support, funding, ecosystem supporters, investors, accelerator programs, inspirational talks and masterclasses, profile-building opportunities) and community (Facebook forum, weekly newsletter, events and activities with like-minded entrepreneurs, credits, discounts and offers from partners).

The City campus is located in the heart of Sydney's creative precinct and alongside Sydney's central business district. UTS invested $1.3 billion in creating a dynamic and interconnected campus of the future, with award-winning buildings, state-of-the-art facilities and sustainable design. 

UTS has more than 20 buildings spread across the city campus, with additional specialist buildings at other locations around Sydney. Three of the City campus’s precincts, Haymarket, Broadway and Blackfriars, are located at the southern gateway to Sydney’s cosmopolitan central business district (CBD). The newest precincts are situated within the elite sporting zone at Moore Park and on an industrial park at Botany.
